It’s pickleball busy season. Right now, paddle makers are rushing to get their shiny new toys out the door before Chinese New Year presses pause on production and we all fall into the annual release lull.

We’re experiencing a flurry of announcements, teasers, and enough paddle jargon to make your head spin. Some of the new releases are promising game-changing tech, others offer minor improvements in slightly different shapes, and a few just look really cool. Here’s everything we know so far about what’s about to hit the market, minus the fluff and hype.

Vatic Pro: Saga Bloom

Release Date: Mid-February

Prism Bloom Launch Edition (16MM and 14MM) debuted earlier this month in the beautiful sky blue launch edition as Vatic Pro's first widebody paddle. The Saga series, released in November, introduced their hybrid (Flash) and elongated (V7) shapes. The Saga is a Gen 1.5 construction, partially thermoformed paddle with a foam perimeter and 10mm American-sourced cells. The widebody shape is set to release mid-February, according to Vatic Pro. We predict that the Saga Bloom will also feature the iconic Samurai design.

Honolulu Pickleball: J2K+ and J2Ti+

Release Date: End of January

The popular J2K shape is getting a Gen 3 makeover, which means it’ll hit harder, but not too hard—that’s being saved for the power paddles they’re planning to release later. Construction-wise, it’s similar to 11SIX24 Power Paddle blueprint: foam-injected edges, floating core, and weighted edges.

Features:

  • Gen 3 construction, power paddles with foam-injected perimeters and a floating core
  • Upgraded power from J2K
  • Pending USAP approval
  • 6 month warranty
  • Weighted edges similar to 11SIX24 Power series

Pickleball Apes: Pulse X

Projected Release: March 2025

The popular Pickleball Apes Pulse series initially launched in three shapes: Standard (V), Hybrid (S), and Extra-Elongated (E). Now, they’re adding a more typical elongated shape with the upcoming X paddle. One standout feature is the three carbon rings designed to improve stability, though they’ve also led to a noticeable "break-in" period, with performance improving significantly after a few hours of play. Pickleball Apes aims to address this issue in the X series, potentially refining the design for a more consistent out-of-the-box experience.

Features:

  • Gen 3 construction
  • Elongated shape
  • Foam injected perimeters
  • Interior layer of foam
  • 3x carbon fiber rings

Chorus: Echo

Projected Release: March 2025

Price: $89 with code SPEAK
